Murals

Artist Paul Means was commissioned to paint several wall murals for the Private Residence representing places the Owners have visited. Working from images, Paul creates an impressionistic vista of each locale. The framing and perspective are tailored to the space, surrounding architecture and most importantly the vantage point of the viewer. Working from sketches or a small rendering, Paul develops the mural in charcoal, embellishing and reworking as he progresses. Color and detail are added in successive layers, subtly adjusting until the desired effect is achieved. The complete work is a fantastic balance of impressionism and realism that makes the scene very convincing and with out contrivance.
